Welcome to the

Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in Ireland,

Waterford Monthly Meeting

Welcome Friends!

Friends meet together in silence believing that the Holy Spirit, however perceived, will lead us to worship.  Any person who feels moved to do so may speak at the meeting. We believe that God exists in everyone, so that anyone can experience divine love and guidance.

Quakers came to Ireland in 1654 and have been part of life in Waterford city since 1655.

Today, Friends meet for worship every Sunday, from 10am - 11am at the Waterford Quaker Meeting House.

All are welcome.

There is a Children’s Meeting for ages up to 11 on the first and third Sundays in the month at 10am. This joins Meeting for Worship at about 10:50am for the last 10 minutes.

Normally in addition during school terms (September to May) there is “Junior Meeting”, also at 10am, for the 12-18 age group. This joins Meeting for Worship some time after 10:40am for the remainder of the Meeting.

“Our life is love, and peace, and tenderness; and bearing one with another, and forgiving one another, and not laying accusations one against another; but praying one for another, and helping one another up with a tender hand.”

Isaac Penington 1616-1679

All are welcome
